The Arenal in Javea is a real mecca for tourists in the summer season and with good reason. It’s a delightfully sandy beach in a crescent shape with a pedestrian promenade all the way along, lined with tantalising bars and restaurants!
Javea has none of the brashness of Benidorm. Instead, you will find classy restaurants and bars with stunning décor and ambience, all whilst still offering traditional Spanish value for money. You’ll simply love the holiday atmosphere!
Restaurants
Some of the restaurants we are particularly fond of are:
Chabada Javea – a great place for reasonably priced food and lovely for evening drinks. They very often have live music at weekends – so do check online if you fancy going along to enjoy!
Achill Javea – a really cool cocktail-bar style venue with great music. Take advantage of the fabulous, elevated views over the bay and across to the Montgo.
Atalaya Javea – beautiful place next door to Achill, again with the same stunning views. Perfect for soaking up sun while enjoying a customary gin and tonic!
Bar Fuego BBQ Javea – gorgeous steakhouse with really fun and friendly staff. Have your steaks seared and then delivered to your table on a hot, sizzling grill and cook them just how you like them.
Pizzeria Pepa Javea – a wonderful Italian restaurant with a wide variety of delicious pizzas and pastas, plus they offer other foods as well.
La Boheme Javea – a really pretty restaurant with stunning food. A little more pricey than average, but we think worth it and have really enjoyed eating here.
These are just a few of our favourites, but we have by no means tried them all – do let us know if you have any favourites yourselves!
Alternatively, why not try some of the tapas on offer at most places – a great way to try new and authentic foods without ordering a main. Or, if you are hankering after something a little more British, there is Fish & Chips which might tempt you. And after all that eating, I’m sure you’ll enjoy wandering along the promenade and sampling the various ice-cream parlours and crepes. Or for a real treat, try La Fontana Javea, right down in the direction of the Port end of the Arenal, just along from the Tourist Information Centre – we very often have a cheeky hot chocolate with Churros, a Spanish fried doughnut-like strip 🙂
The Arenal isn’t just about bars and restaurants though, there are gift shops, clothing stores, banks and estate agents, as well as Doctors, Vets, Physios, pop up Yoga cafes – you name it, the Arenal has probably got it!
And of course, on the wonderfully sandy beach you can hire comfy sunloungers and dip into the crystal clear, shallow waters. For those of you seeking a little more adventure, you can indulge in some diving with Diving Javea or perhaps hire some Jet Skis and Boats Javea which is situated at the end of the Arenal, near the Tourist Information Centre and La Fontana.
