15 minute walk to Cala Blanca Beach, Javea from the Villa
One of the reasons we bought Casa Tonica was because of its easy access to everything. Many of the villas we considered were 10-15 minutes drive to Javea’s Arenal and you couldn’t walk to any amenities.
When we found Casa Tonica, we knew instantly it was perfect because it’s far enough away from the Arenal not to be part of the hustle and bustle and yet you can drive there in 3-5 mins (depending which end of the resort you want!) and you can also walk there, via Cala Blanca, in around 30 minutes.
But if you’re not fussed about reaching the Arenal and are just after some tranquility, then why not walk down to the Cala Blanca and take a flask (or something stronger!) to enjoy with the exquisite views? You can get to the beach in 15 minutes if you’re an average walker.
To Get There
To get there, you need to come out of the warren of streets near us and drop down to the Portitxol road. Just across the road is L’Escorpa, a small country lane. Follow this lane as it winds around and up.
Shortly, you will glimpse the sea in the distance and will be led through a narrow lane and drop down to a small crescent. You can turn left here or turn right and then loop back to the left and you’re on a small country road. A few strides down the hill brings you to a sign to a Mirador, which in English is a ‘viewpoint’ – follow this down the road and steps to the Cala Blanca viewpoint.
Variation – via Caleta
For variations on this route, you can turn right instead of left at the road mentioned above and instead of going downhill, head uphill on this quiet road to the elevated ‘Caleta’ Mirador viewpoint, where some benches provide a welcome break and a chance to enjoy the views high up.
A path leads you easily from Caleta down to the Cala Blanca viewpoint.
There’s an abundance of beauty in the Cala Blanca with some unusual natural features – a great place for kids to explore! There are also some places to chill and watch the waves, with seating provided along the front.
